Our History

Shrinking World Media started life as a web design company in 2000.  In 2002 a major international client for whom we provided web design and artwork services requested a short video of their land compaction machine on their website.  As the company founder Ian Newton had been a sound engineer in the music industry for over a decade the transition to video was a natural progression.  Video cameras and an editing suite were purchased and within a month Shrinking World Media had become a corporate video production company.

As time went on the nature of the projects we worked on changed until we produced our first DVD made specifically for retail sale.  It was a video about a horse trainer who uses a method of training horses developed by an Australian horseman called Kelby Jeffry in the late twentieth century.  The DVD sold like hot cakes in Australia and more moderately here in the UK.

On the strength of that production and our ambitions to produce better quality footage we decided it was time to upgrade our video equipment to High Definition and start producing for Television.  Using the skills we had acquired producing corporate video and having spent some time honing our skills we now have several documentaries in the pipeline.

We are a small company and consider that to be one of our strengths.  As a result we can give our projects the more personal attention that larger companies cannot and due to our diverse selection of skills we are able to produce most of the elements required for any production.  We can shoot, edit, recolour, produce music, titles and animations.
